VOLUNTER DRIVER PROGRAM

About Volunteer Drivers in Minnesota

Volunteer drivers provide safe, low-cost transportation across the state, primarily helping older adults and people with disabilities get to healthcare and other critical services. Volunteer drivers are especially essential in rural communities, where there are few or no options for transportation.

Volunteer transportation programs provide more than just a ride. Drivers may become advocates for the riders they assist and serve as an extra set of eyes and ears to recognize other areas of need or declining health. Volunteer drivers play an important role in addressing social isolation by helping riders stay engaged in their community.
